To Specialize or Not to Specialize? That’s the Question.

Chris Barbanti

At Oracle OpenWorld last week, the folks heading up OPN (Oracle Partner Network) discussed the advantages of getting their employees specialized in the hundreds of technology products Oracle has either acquired or built organically over the last 5 years.   In fact, until recently Oracle had only offered specialization in a few key areas but since 2011 they have opened up this program to most technologies (see PDF below).

Oracle offers three levels of specialization: Gold, Platinum, Diamond and also an Advanced Specialization Category. As a Pinnacle Oracle Partner, TriCore Solutions believes specialization is a key differentiator in the marketplace. It illustrates the depth and breadth of our experience as a trusted vendor and illustrates our focus on particular areas including the Database Stack, e-Business Suite, Data Management, the Cloud and all facets of Business Intelligence (OBIEE, OBIA, Exalytics, Exadata, Endeca).

Specialization provides recognition by Oracle, and brings in new business opportunities and referrals. More importantly it is a critical factor in the selection process.  Most of our clients tell us that being specialized was a big reason why they selected TriCore.

To Specialize or Not, the Answer is Simple, Specialization is a Key Differentiator in the Marketplace.
